 Well hello there!

And welcome to my blog! My name is Syren. I am a 29year old, Stay at home mom who loves to Read, write and game when I'm not spending time with my family anyway.


Back in 2022, My family and I made quiet a big move and left NYC to join my brother in a small town way upstate. As I am sure some of you could guess, it was a big change to go from city living, too town living. And I will admit at first, it was a bit of a struggle for me, having all this time on my hands to do the things I had always wanted to do but now I didn't know what to do.

I had already joined tiktok back in 2020, like so many of us did back when there was very little to do (ugh covid). But it wasn't until around the summer of 2023 that I actually discovered booktok and jumped back into reading. And since then, let me tell you, so many wonderful things have happened. I've joined a ton of book groups, made some awesome friends, joined booktok where I now have almost 1000 people following, listening to me rant about books. Best of all, I've discovered so many wonderful books.

Now I hope to do more. Hopefully, you're down to come along for the journey. This community is so amazing and welcoming, the least I could do is contribute to its awesomeness 😄

Book Review: Hallowed games by C.N Crawford

  Vampires, witches, death, romance. In a world where witches exist but are captured, tortured and killed, Hallowed games follows the POV of a witch with a deadly power as she is forced to partake in trials held by a religious order in an effort to save her life. When the Raven Lord himself seems to take a fancy to her, she learns some dangerous secrets, about him, and others.  This was my first ever ARC off of book sirens.  And honestly there is a lot I can say about it ( but I hate giving spoilers 😜), but I want to start with what you can see. This beautiful cover! I know they tell you not to judge a book by it's cover, but is it not the cover that catches our eyes in the first place?  Well, this cover definitely caught my eye. Among all the fantasy romance books I was recommended by the site, this is the one that had stood out the most. Let's Talk ARC's : some basic need to know about advanced Reader copies

             (This is an example picture. This is not a call for ARC readers)     So if you've been part of the book community, you are probably very familiar with what an ARC is. For those of your just joining the community, an ARC is an advanced Reader copy giving out to readers, usually few weeks before release, in exchange for an early review.  At least that is what you are supposed to do.  And that's what we're here to talk about today. Let's start with the basics: I've already covered what an ARC basically is. It's an advanced copy of a book. How Do you get an ARC?  You will see a lot of authors, especially indie authors, on social media looking for ARC readers. There are also several sites that help link authors to readers, like the site I found, BookSirens. You should be aware however that sites like these may have deadlines in which you have to submit a review to them. BookSirens gives you 30 days to read and review. (...
